Crusader League
2008
sees a return for the Dove Valley to the league, after a break of over
10 years. The swimming ages are 10’s, 12’s 14’s and Open and
the programme is very similar to that of the Speedo league. There
are 3 divisions in the league, we have joined in Division 3 which will
consist of teams from Newcastle, Crewe, Whitchurch and
ourselves. There are 4 rounds, one at each of all the teams
pools. Competition takes place between January and June each
year.
The club is approaching this competition with the view that it wants
to do well, but at the same time, does want to use it to give some other
club swimmers gala competition. It may therefore not be the
strongest squad we can put out, but will not be too far off. It is
important that we do give opportunities to some different swimmers from
time to time, and this is just the competition we need to do that
in.
The Crusader League is attractive to us, as it provides swims for a
complete different age category of swimmers to that of the Speedo
league, so that in any one calendar year, every one of our age groups of
swimmers has its own high level of competition.

you would like see further information about this league, the dates for
